Hmmm am I reading the wrong cues or aren't they technically cousins or at least step-cousins?
I mean, before MC died she was a royalty, she's either the daughter of the emperor or was adopted into the family(dunno how that would work). And ML's father is the younger brother of said emperor, thus making them cousins or at least step-cousins. Someone pls explain to me, I don't wanna read if I'm right :'))
