I'm surprised people are theorizing that he doesn't want him to go because he wants the prize money himself, I think Yeseung is rich, and is part of a gang/dubious corporation and he knows the tournament is illegal and shady so he doesn't want the MC to be part of it. The boxing association guys called him vice president and his connection to the gallery old man too.
I don’t disagree with that in general I had two assumptions which was he was working a part of this gang and association, and he knew what was going on and was doing it out of his safety or which leads me back to my main point he wanted to get the money from himself.
