Dropping (chapt. 18) - Bad Villain Writing

I gave it a shot, but I'm not a fan of this one.

I found the villains TOO annoying (uncle, cousin, asshole ML), and at first I couldn't figure out why---after all, villains are supposed to be un-likeable, duh. But they're just TOO stupid.

The ML is contradictory (sees her for the first time in many years, "Oh, I can't stand this girl"-->goes out of his way see her again). So is the uncle (supposedly he proposed to the aunt and loves her-->acts like a total dick to the aunt).

Also, every villain hates the FL pretty much immediately, and their reasons are either completely unexplained or paper-thin at best. A good villain still has some sense of reason about them, however flawed; but this is just dumb. If they had fleshed out those characters a bit more, I think it could've been a better read.

I wouldn't have minded if the uncle and sister didn't like her, but were still humans capable. After all, I feel like sometimes we just don't like a person without sound reasoning and that prejudice keeps us from seeing them in a positive light. But to have the uncle be a villain? I'd prefer if they kept him morally ambiguous, and wanted to marry her off so she was out of sight and he could have his "happy family" with just his wife and daughter.

I don't understand how an uncle so old can hate on a child so much, it's stupid, but I'd at least understand it for the daughter.

She's the daughter of a kind woman, so why is it that she basically shows no resemblance to her mother? I hate when stories don't add depth to characters that show up often simply to make them easy to hate. I'd prefer it, if over the years she grew fond and was starting to like her and see her as a sister. But felt uneasy due to the close relationship the mother and FL have with each other. Along with the fact, the guy she has a crush on, is showing interest in her. To feel inferior to someone, when you're the one that has more, she'd be so much more interesting with all of her insecurities making it the reason she acts so nasty after they were almost real sisters. After all this, it'd be nice if she matured and they could be real sisters. But she's just meant to be a villain, so I doubt she'll grow on us

(I dropped at Ch. 12 since the art and plot seemed fun but the story is too basic and is following the same premise of every cut and paste slop out there. If it gets better, let me know) ┗( T﹏T )┛

Yeah I don't think I can keep going with this either, everyone aside from a few people are just unreasonably horrible, and god help if that creepy duke is the ML. Its always stories where the FL has a really traumatic or horrible childhood who get paired with toxic and manipulative people.
