Goodness, don't question it or else the PH posse will come for you. I think they make the whole thing messy, confusing, and are a waste of time, but people get really sore about asking what the point of them is. (I know this because they keep coming after me for complaining. I've been reading fan translations for 20+ years and have never seen such gatekeeping until this last year or so.)
I'd rather have the not-so-good translation if that means I don't have to sift through PHs to see if there is an actual chapter or get notifications and it ends up being just a PH. I wish the site would fix this somehow so that the people who want to be the "official" uploader don't need to do this, or else keep them from doing uploading only placeholders; preferably the former, because I know people put time and effort into their uploads. But damn does it get aggravating to get excited about a chapter and it ends up being ANOTHER USELESS PH.
I understand being annoyed by empty notifications but rarely are there uploaders that upload placeholders without uploading an actual chapter at the same time and this one is not it either. You aren’t getting notified for empty chapters. You are getting notified for the official translations, which you might not read, but others do. If you have been on the internet for 20+ years you should be more than used to sharing space with people that don’t have the same desires as you. If you want a quicker look into whether the new chapter was a fantranslation or not look below the Bio, there should be a “Latest” list.
