Zenya will have the best character development — he even helps Taekjoo clear his name in South Korea after Taekjoo becomes one of the most wanted there.
I don't get novel readers either, I am almost finishing the novel and I still can't defend him, even after they "get together" he doesn't change much and still does whatever he wants to mc. People kept saying he has a great redemption arc so I read it to see how it was but I felt kinda let down by that, their relationship had potential for something better but it's practically the same selfishness in a different setting.
ngl after redeeming most black/red flags still do whatever they wanted(with moderation). the thing is, if you can't ever appreciate a person's effort to change, you'll never notice even the little details he does for Taekjoo's sake.

I do think without a doubt that Zhenya starts to love Taekjoo fr fr, but the problem is that because of his past experiences and because he is a certified psycho, he doesn't know how to love properly and to consider other person's feelings and consent as important. But it's also not all his fault ngl, Taekjoo was too passive all the time imo, he said that he wanted to turn Zhenya into a human and I thought the story had potential there for character development, but he never took the time to explain anything to him and was absent a lot of the time, plus Taekjoo has the communication skills of a 5 year old, boy is overall dumb ngl. So their chapters after they get together gave me a feeling that they were both a mess and they will need a lot of time and effort from both sides to have a healthier relationship and let me hanging because it would have been nice to have seen more of it on the novel
