No she doesn’t, it’s just the nature of her gift: if you have one precious thing that can be permanently lost at a moment’s notice you will do everything to protect it vs not having those stakes… you’re going to be a lot more liberal with how you care for it

If she didn’t care, then she would have agreed to exchange her emotions (aka the core of one’s humanity) to the godling in exchange for supreme power. If she didn’t care, then she wouldn’t be struggling with this morally gray area of treating people’s lives as expendable because, so long as she “stays in the game” (aka remains alive), then the lives aren’t lost but redone. However, other people don’t know this, so each time she uses her power, she is actually ultimately trying to keep people alive (and grow in power within the organization so she can take them down) but it looks like she is minimizing (without just cause) the safety and lives of others

I think this mentality and behavior is inevitable among the users of this particular power (turning back time). Just look at other characters in fiction that have had this ability. They all appear like they are prioritizing strategy and achieving goals they keep to themselves over concern for other people (so they are emotionally distant/disconnected or just straight up appearing sociopathic). But I don’t see how any other personality type could handle this power either. It’s really fascinating to me

I mean it makes sense, she's seen her friends die or get badly hurt and turned back time to reverse it. It makes sense that becoming distant, cold, and goal directed is the natural progression of her psyche.

Yeah like imagine being that guy with the telekinetic powers having her power instead? He’s so pro social, extroverted, and invested in the feelings of those around him that he could never survive sacrificing those parts of his identity and endure the massive cognitive demands of essentially playing what appears to be a high stakes game of human chess against yourself. If she gave up a bit of her rational mind to emotionally connect with those around her (to build genuine friendships instead of transactional relationships) she couldn’t survive the inevitable isolation inherent in living on a different time plane, never being able to truly confide in others, never being able to have honest relationships, and having to repeatedly witness (and even incite) the deaths of those around you (esp those u care about). Characters with this power typically end up struggling w their sanity. Actually idk any other fiction characters w this power that don’t go insane. I think Hermione only did because (1) she wasn’t alone (dumbledore gave it to her and she eventually brought harry and ron along w her) and (2) the power was separate from her identity and life (it was a tool she was trusted with for a limited period of time because she showed such level headedness and logical thinking (and had a robust support system of her two best friends and mentor dumbledore).
