well it's not like he had much of a chance. he's disabled, Gunther provides what he can and quite frankly he probably doesn't have the money to buy matching ones for him :(

It's a Mobility Aid you don't exactly get to choose how fashionable it is
especially when you think of the time period

Tbh not many people actually know much about disabled people’s prosthetics in today’s society so it makes sense a vampire from then would have no clue. He probably assumed it was to aid him but had no idea how or why. Rn it looks like his ankle joint was used as a substitute for a knee joint. A lot of people don’t even know that that’s something you can actually get.

    Seriously people?!
First of all, we just discovered Vladimir had a son with disability, wearing the same exact type of boots. So, between everyone, he would know at first glance.
Second, they literally discussed about Leo's body the first time they met.
Third, people are not so obnoxious as you are trying to be: seeing the difference between the heels would be an easy guess. Even more that we can easily assume that in historical time weren't much choice and all the devices were similar.
(If you ready carefully, and you havent, his ankle just twisted in the last chapter, he doesn't actually has a 'reverse articulation' but just just a shorter, crooked leg).

And at last, both of you Sherlock haven't any sense of humor, as I never addressed Leo's disability in my comment: if you have read my post title, the subject was the plot twist directly connected to the difference in the boots. If you see someone walking around wearing two different type of boots, at least you noticed it, and probably assume there is a reason.

No thats his ankle getting fucked u and twisted backwards (check chapter 1 for reference of what his leg without the shoe looks like) but you are right that his platformed shoe is a mobility aid
