completely agree. Too many MCs keep being doormats, who cosplay red carpets. And mangas show others changing due to the MC being an idiot, but it doesn't work like that irl.

I hate how stories with holier-than-thou MCs teach people to turn the other cheek even for those who clearly won't appreciate the gesture. That's like reinforcing the message that it's alright to become a doormat and take others' abusive behavior because that's just what "good people" do. In the real world, kindness alone won't get through to them and make them change. You're just opening yourself to exploitation.
