If u r a fan and reading this, don't get mad. It's not bad, 'cause it could be worse lol I actually enjoyed it a little but totally felt like a waste of time. I just know the manhwa would be worth reading—as a smut material because the art style ATE! anything visually pleasing is good for the eyes if we just focus on the good parts. The novel doesn't really have that "pleasing in the eyes" thing so I took it seriously and ended up disappointed HAHA
While I respect your personal opinion about the novel itself but I am sorry but most of your complaints about the novel's characters fall short because it is clear you haven't read the novel properly or just skimmed through it. It is probably because the plot isn't simply your preference. You can read my opinion if you want to.
Eighteen's bed is a character driven novel.Idk why did you focus on the smut when there is barely any smut, except for the extra chapters. The explanation behind Kang Jun's mentality is clearly shown and explained. Also he doesn't hang out with the delinquent type of students, he hangs out with the most popular student who can use as a shield. There are paragraphs detailing why did he do what he did. Also it's a all boys school, those "smart kids" aren't valued much unlike the rich students who are violent and aggressive (since male students prefer delinquents over nerds) and Kang Jun does maintain good relationships with the smart students too for a while at least. Kang Jun is intentionally written to be prideful and kind of a push over but his development is steady and his flaws are realistic for a high school student. The worldbuilding isn't as nessacary because it's a character driven story, not a plot driven one.
While Go Yohan is obsessive, his mentality is complicated and feels almost childish; he also has development especially in the end when kang juns fights back. Calling him "typical" feels like you haven't really understood his characyer which is understandable since he is meant to be mysterious and whimsical in a way lol.

well I didn't focus on the smut, i just mentioned that cause my friend said she's excited to see the the deed and not just read it. Though my last remark did seem that way and even insulting but oh well, that's how I feel about the character, it's just this feeling that I am finally seeing a development then it goes back to this complex character the author made them. One thing I did enjoy is how they come to accept and feel confident about their sexuality.
Like u said mc hangs out with most popular. That is what I find a bit meh cause the setting set in stone that this most popular we speak of are exactly these wealthy, good looking and strong(can fight so that the boys will admire/respect the top dog brawn-wise) It's pretty common in manhwa or school hierarchy setting. Ig I was just expecting MC to stop sucking up or pretending which he did(mentally) but how he acted is still the same just a bit braver than his past self who just laughs along even when insulted face to face.
So yeah, irl there so many types of popular kids, the one that really wins is the student who gets the majority's favor which is thru money, looks, connections and even brawn/fighting/being top dog. Anyway that isn't what the author focused on cause it's more of about their trauma, being closeted and self esteem also love. Anyway I said what I said, that's how I feel and think about it despite knowing and understanding what you mean. I mean I stated I already read it and it's really frustrating and enjoyable at the same time. Btw I didn't just skimmed/binge it I really did read it cause if I just binged it, I'll probably be less brothered about the angst.
About the typical criticism, he really is. There's similar characters to his temperament and behavioral pattern developed by traumas etc. But he is one of the few that doesn't stoop that low and is bearable cause I can still sympathize with his reasons unlike some Chinese version ghod I don't even wanna think about it esp those over the top grapist
Girl you said that MC should form up with the smart kids instead of these delinquents but did you forget when MC was being treated as an outcast he did try talking with the other smart kids , bruh they were total hypocrites mad btches. Cause the setting the author chose is already set in stone that these power mc wants is for the top dog. Speak up against the bully and u get beat up typa setting. That's totally out of reality. I love that kind of genre's too(IF THE MC IS THE ONE BEATING UP PPL INSTEAD OF GETTING BEAT UP or being such a loser) but I hate limited settings sm I'd rather reread the entire book series of Grandmaster of demonic cultivation cause that one's world building doesn't feel suffocating.

And have u ever played a game that u almost won but got defeated instead so u try again and defeat, and again and again but still nothing came out of trying again. Yes, a circle of let downs. I really didn't sleep a wink just to read the novel in one sitting. I hated how pathetic these characters are written. The potential is there but decided to make em pathetic lmao which is actually like that irl I mean MC is the type to kiss asss and win favors no matter how much he hates it, he ends up doing it anyways=bootlicking! HAHAHAHA
Yohan= weird kid, interesting but so unrelatable like he doesn't even feel human, he seems like a generic obsessive top.
MC= a frustrating twink who thinks bad of everyone but acts like a total loser despite having it all. Money, Looks, Brains and social skill Goddamn twink can't use that big brain properly like bro if you want to have real power and social standing go to your lane! WITH THE SMART KIDS why do u want the delinquents influence/power when u could use ur 'teachers pet' and good grades to make a solid group of student council gang?
