If you wanna know, basically Advisor Joo Incheol (our protagonist) is a right-hand man for Representative Lee Myungseon (politician lady). His rival is Advisor Cha (guy with dimples who nodded at Joo in chapter 1). Advisor Cha has been in "exile" in the countryside for a while, presumably because of Incheol, but he came back and now Incheol had to take up the work Cha wasn't able to do, which is convincing Ahn Pyeonghwa (our masochistic love interest) to sell his gym so the redevelopment project of the Central District neighborhood can get going (I think the project is vital to Rep Lee's electorial campaign in some way. She mentioned a "real estate ammendment" in chapter 6). The gym is a big property so it's in the way of the land the redevelopment project is built on, which is why it's very important that Pyeonghwa agrees to relocate.
Incheol is pretty desperate to finish the task because he's afraid Advisor Cha will take over his position while he's away. Meanwhile Rep Lee is also putting pressure on him because she's dangling the promise of handling over the district to Incheol if he's able to resolve the issue in Central District, but she also warns him to stop using corrupted methods because there's a crackdown on the current prime minister. Meanwhile she's pretty corrupted herself and ordered Incheol to do all of the corrupted stuff in the first place, so Incheol is practically stuck in the hell of middle management (I bet he has a metric ton of pent-up rage inside him. If only there's a way he can let it all out. Or maybe a target he can let it out on. A willing, enthusiastic target. Hmmm).
Incheol's biggest obstacle at the moment is convincing Ahn Pyeonghwa to give up his gym. But for some reason Pyeonghwa doesn't want money or any kind of favor. As for why this is the case, we'll probably find out in the next chapter (ㅎᴗㅎ )

You're definitely right. Either Advisor Cha has some benefits that makes Rep Lee change her favourite, or she wants to discard Incheol by sending him to the countryside, which practically cut him off from what's going on in her inner circle (making him a scapegoat for all the corruption maybe?). Either way, Incheol is not in the best place. I hope the story has a happy ending for my bois.
I love this but I’ve legit been skipping all the business talk lol. I feel so dumb but like I just don’t care enough about what they are doing!!! I just want the romance!!!
