Maacha is short for Masaki or a short and cute version of Mama?

i think it's mama because hikarin calls hiromu papa

I always kind of saw it like ma - chan for some reason. Something in me sees a moment where someone referred to Misaki as ma - chan (like "look hikari! Its your ma-chan!) and it stuck with his confused infant mind. My theory is very unlikely though
