I think he's enamored by the fact that Nanjo was willing to endure that for the twink and wants that devotion all directed to himself. I'm more interested in Nanjo's inner thoughts. Cause what would truly possess a wealthy man to bottom for the sake of a twink who is after his money??? What traumatized him? I need answers.

Thing is he did not expect anything at all from Nanjo from the get go... ever since he realized his own feelings he's been waiting for them to die down on their own. Never even considered letting Nanjo know about them, much less expecting him to reciprocate.
Also it was never a power play. He was simply curious and wanted to have a taste.
In normal human terms, that's called falling for someone at first sight. But he never expected himself to fall in love so he couldn't translate what he was feeling in a different way.
Tldr the guy deemed himself unworthy of Nanjo's love so gave up before even trying.

The nuances and emotional complexities are written well enough to keep me engaged and wanting to see how the story progresses. I'm also dying to know wtf goes on in Nanjo's head because like Lotuspeach22 said, what posseses him to go this far for that twink?!!!

I do still feel like it was a power play more than love at first sight. And truthfully, his hesitation to have his love reciprocated seems to stem from the fact that he knows how atrocious his earlier behavior was.

He coerced Nanjo into sleeping with him, while we can argue that Nanjo made a choice, it's obvious that their values, sexual experiences and preferences clashed. Both the twink and our ML, exposed Nanjo to a lifestyle he knew nothing about and had strong opinions, almost a revulsion, to, with no true attempt at educating him on it.

They were selfish, while Nanjo was being selfless thinking the twink needed to be saved and was more valuable than the twink thought himself to be. Let us not forget that this twink was pretending to be something he wasn't, so naturally Nanjo would assume that M, was forcing the twink into this situation. Especially, since M made no move to clarify or explain what was happening.

In fact, I believe the fact that Nanjo came across as self righteous, while knowing nothing at all, was exactly why M started this whole thing in the beginning. They both, M & the twink, deceived Nanjo and used his own values and sense of responsibility against him.

Truly, backing someone into a corner using their own values and beliefs, misguided or misinformed as they may be, is still manipulation, which can be interpreted as a power play. M knew better, he had a clear understanding of what was happening, but did what he did initially to Nanjo to satisfy his curiosity and shame or one up him.

He started this out of spite, fell in love and suddenly grew enough of a conscience to not act on his most base desire to humilate, perhaps even possess, Nanjo. What we're seeing is his current feeling of love overriding his initial desire to humiliate Nanjo.

Let me remind you that Mokyeon never felt his sadistic urge activate when doing it with Nanjo, on the contrary he was surprised when he was satisfied by simply doing it with him, without any need to hurt or humiliate him like he does with his other partners, twink included. So I still find the power play assumption farfetched.

Don't get me wrong though, what he did was obvious manipulation, plain and simple.

I too am wondering how things will develop between the 3. Mokyeon most likely knows the twink's personality more than anyone and was certain that he wouldn't mind him having a sexual relationship with Nanjo behind his back. If anything, the twink might've supported it, as long as it contributes to a spicier time for him in bed. I mean HE was the one who suggested the threesome. Heck he even called Nanjo "our" man once!
But I also don't think that he'd give up on his sugar daddy cause his friend with benefits fell for him..

As for Mokyeon, he didn't read too deep into his urges and he's now paying for it.

Lastly Nanjo... Nanjo is pitiful. I am hoping there's more to him than that. Please be a scheming bastard who has everything figured out in some kind of plot twist, PLEASE!! T_T

I'd like to point out that sadism isn't only physical.

He was physically aroused by someone who was physically and mentally not interested in him. He was turned on by Nanjo enduring bottoming for what we assume was his first time. There was no real need for him to escalate beyond the clear mental power trip he was enjoying. Nanjo not breaking likely endeared him to M.

Every involuntary reaction that he got out of Nanjo turned him on more. Excited him. I disagree that this wasn't a power play for Mokyeon initially. And truly, he reacted like someone high every time Nanjo showed up for their appointments. And the fact that Nanjo seemed unaffected it all, most likely intrigued him.

I understand ascribing a deeper meaning to Mokyeon's actions, but I also feel like seeing it for what it was is also necessary if we're to get a proper arc for their romantic development.

I hope we get a proper arc, most of their smut scenes had an air of violation to it. There was no true romance or tenderness, there was one who desired and one who endured that desire.

But I do agree that we need to see more of Nanjo, his character is rather pitiful.

well said!! these are my exact same observations as well. His initial intentions were definitely to toy with Nanjo and humiliate him, have his fun until he got bored. And yes while Nanjo could have said no or whatever, he was cornered and manipulated into agreeing to have sex with M. M knew the twink was playing him and didn't need anyone protecting him, but he let Nanjo continue believing he did, and used that misunderstanding to take advantage of him.

if theres more to Nanjo than the pitiful and naive version we're seeing, that would be the best fucking plot twist!!! cuz the current situation is too frustrating
