I think both sides is not in the right. It is understandable for the author to be mad but the way they were expressing it, is so inappropriate (death threats). At the same time the person shouldn’t have deliberately tagged the author, showing off he was using illegal sites. But he obviously does not deserve death threats. Lose lose situation

Thats her work being stolen and someone else getting money outta it while she gets none. And on top of that illegal readers have the audacity to get mad at her and call her work trash(the same bitches who read new chapters the minute it comes out btw). Broke bitches be having too much audacity nowadays lol ofc she'd crash out

babes, you are on said illegal website right now, and it looks like you've read hundreds of stories on here... the call is coming from inside the house. its wrong to tell someone to off themselves, point blank. "crashing out" is not an excuse to say things like that to anyone.... its immature and does not offer a solution to the problem.

Yeah and I know my place. I'm a broke bitch and have no right to argue with authors when they get mad. I know what I'm doing is wrong unlike yall who think you're entitled to authors respect and their works. Also I'm not such a snowflake that I'll get sad at someone telling me to kms lol. Thats so silly. Just ignore her tweets the same way yall ignore artists and authors hardwork, simple.

okay, but admitting fault isn't really doing much of a difference than someone who also reads illegally & doesn't admit fault. saying "I know its wrong, but I do it anyway" doesnt save your case. we all feel "entitled" as long as we continue to read illegally... because we continue to do it. also, its not even the fact that someone told someone to off themselves, we are talking about a professional manhwa author with 1 million followers... come on now. calling someone a snowflake for getting upset at such a comment? really? is that where we're at now?

Admiting fault, keeping quiet and not interacting with authors is the basic principle of pirating. If we're gonna pirate atleast do it responsibly. (Also personally I do make a difference cause I actually try to pay for the works I read)
We shouldn't feel entitled. That's my point. That's being a jerk. The only people who deserve to feel entitled are the legal readers.
The person who angered author was being a stupid jerk and did it on purpose so yeah fuck around and find out ig lol. I just hope this doesn't become another yd situation

I dont think you know what actually happened. someone posted a screenshot of a panel from the manhwa saying how cute/funny the context of it is, & thats when the author went off on them, not because they were being a "stupid jerk". also, there has been a recent update on the author on twitter, she's been telling people that she'll "stuff them and burn them at thee stake" & how she'll "engage in cyberbullying and argue" w readers. also not to mention to fact that she went off on someone who created fan art of her manhwa bc she didnt like how it looked. we are not talking about someone who's handling this situation with grace or sense, & defending her is actually embarrassing.
you admitting fault isn't saving you from reading illegally, you are not superior to those who dont admit fault, bc at the end of the day you're still consuming illegal content while using illegal websites. you aren't an anomaly "trying to pay" and actually paying for these stories is different, earlier you said you were broke and admitting fault, now you're saying you do pay, so which is it bruh

no, YOU don’t know. Please read what this person commented. https://www.mangago.zone/home/mangatopic/19504240/
You can’t compare readers that does it respectfully and those who deliberately upsets the author. Because the person knew exactly what they were doing. Obviously the author overreacted but let’s not forget that the person should also take accountability. And I’m sure you can empathize with the author to an extent, since how would you feel if someone stole your art and also boasting about stealing it. But of course she should’ve handled it much differently.

lets not act like she wouldn't have said the same thing to any other person who posted that screenshot ... I doubt she actually knew aslan prior to their interaction. this specific author has gone through many instances of insulting, berating, and putting down people for little to no reason.. not even for piracy reasons. this is a disgusting behavior pattern from someone who has a much bigger responsibility and role on social media. I empathize with her that her work is stolen, but her barbaric reactions towards readers overshadows all of that. theres a way to handle things with a calm solution in mind, and not telling people they should "disappear" and how she's going to cyberbully and stuff their bodies. its absurd that y'all are defending this nonsensical behavior from someone who has a role to be professional in the public eye

This whole ordeal started because a user shared illegal translation openly on X when that is the first thing that is forbidden in the mangago community. On top of that he goes ahead and argues with the author with his minions instead of quietly deleting the post and keeping quiet. He broke all piracy rules. So yes he was being a stupid jerk and deserved what came his way.
Secondly I'll proudly say I have bought a lot of stories with my little part time jobs when I didn't start clg cause I'm conscious that what I'm doing is wrong and if I enjoyed a story I need to compensate the author. I said I'm broke now cause I started clg and don't have a job, my parents are paying for everything and I dont have any money of my own. Its literally my promise to myself that when I'll finally get a stable job I'll pay for ALL the stories I have read. That is why I have my lists on the first place. Cause I feel guilty and will compensate when I can. So yes I'm 1000% more superior than all of yall, especially the ones with jobs, who are looting the authors but also have the audacity to do it proudly.

if you are in the BL community on X, there's hundreds of BL accounts who post panels and talk about their favorite stories publicly. what Aslan did wasn't something off the rails or unorthodox within the BL community, so no, he wasn't a "stupid jerk" he was just another BL account on X. And again, admitting fault and still engaging in illegal websites doesnt make you superior, in fact, if anything it makes you look far worse than those who are simply ignorant and dont know better. YOU are currently looting the authors by reading illegally, and feeling guilty about it does not suddenly make you innocent. do you genuinely think if you told ANY of these bl authors "im reading illegally, I feel guilty, ill compensate when I get a job" is going to make them give you a pass? its like robbing from someone, and thinking saying sorry will save you from your wrongdoing. lets be serious now. a professional bl author telling people she's going to cyberbully and stuff them is not normal and its humiliating to defend such a thing.
On Twitter, there was a BL manhwa author who expressed their displeasure because people were reading their work illegally. But then, many of the comments were people getting angry back at them, and? I’m confused — I think the author has every right to be upset.
I also can’t always afford to read things legally, but I still don’t think I have the right to get mad at the authors. They work hard for what they create.
