It’s not hyper-sexualisation of brown men, especially Ishakan he’s a literall filly developed character not a sexual object. I understand how u see him as the latter cuz you guys don’t actually read the story fully + probably self projection. He also hows his masculinity as multifaceted and not one dimensional so it definitely goes way beyond “fetishization”. Do you think fetish porn has complex characters that goes beyond just “hyper-sexualisation”?

All you can say is “ur too busy jerking off” after ive said all these points and then proceed to change your user settings HAHAHAH, it’s funny because I actually started reading this BECAUSE i was one of you guys- skeptical of this story and the title. But after being open and reading it, it actually has a narrative(that u guys dont seem to get), so lesson to take; don’t be narrowminded Also im not attracted to men so yea im definitely “jerking off to Ishakhan who is soooooo hyper-sexualised”. 10/10 self projection btw, keep camping in this comment section eventhough u seem to lurk around here yet talk shit about a story which you don’t fully get? Kinda suspicious i must say LMAO

I understand your pain. I almost posted a rant about this same thing myself but knew it was going to be a battle with the illiterate and changed my mind. People really need to work on their reading comprehension if they think a story where people of color are being portrayed as the heroes is racist.

I’m Middle Eastern and this is not representation! If you are not a brown person I don’t think you should really comment on this, it does portray a lot of racial stereotypes but I don’t think people should expect representation or to be accurately portrayed in manhwas/manhuas/manga bc they come from close minded and heavily colorist countries so is it a surprise that this has racial stereotypes. Not at all.

I don’t know about the original poster but I am a brown person and I know I’m not the only one that doesn’t see an issue. This a fantasy series written by someone that probably only knows what they could garner from textbooks and the internet. If the stereotypes they happened to learn are that black and brown people are beautiful with peak physiques living in diverse, rich lands with great strategist and talented warriors, I’m not really seeing the problem. I don’t know if there’s a language barrier that has caused some kind of misunderstanding but it seems some people are forgetting which side is considered the villains in this story and why.

You can’t compare white people to poc struggles and colorism bc European culture is never demonized and people don’t go out of their way to masculinize white women and constantly draws as animals. That’s the problem here and how majority of historical manhwas portraying pocs as aggressive, animalistic, slaves or give us animal characteristics that’s all we’re ever represented in nothing more. Again I’m not looking for representation but it does get tiring seeing pocs being only depicted in that way, even if they’re trying to show how realistic it was back then.

Now I’m really starting to think there’s a language barrier or perhaps lack of reading comprehension taught in English classes nowadays because none of what you said applies to what I was getting at. No one compared struggles and my question was rhetorical. I’d like to think that it doesn’t really boil down to people preferring the Kurkans were white and the Estians were POC just because they rather black and brown faces were doing the enslaving.
And I mentioned that the stereotypes the author depicts made the POC characters more beautiful, more talented, and stronger than their enemies. I’m not exactly LOOKING for representation from people that probably haven’t see a black or brown face outside of T.V either. All I’m saying is if they’re inspired to write stories with black and brown characters, I’m not exactly upset when they make us kick ass rising against oppression and look damn good doing it. I’d take more offense if the Kurkans were the bad guys and all the negative rumors the people of Estia spread about them turned out to be true.
It’s laughable how you people shouting it’s racist seem to always change your user settings so people can’t reply to you whenever you get schooled that it isn’t racist?
