jun tries to help him by walking in during the family dinner to guilt trip them into letting yohan join. Jun doesn’t know about the other context as to why he’s being iced out by the family and just assumes he’s being mistreated, and takes pity on him. Yohan, feeling egregiously humiliated, takes it out on jun and they have a heated argument, causing a huge fallout between them. Then, Yohan starts ignoring Jun. Jun doesn’t press further and goes along with it. But soon enough, he becomes Yohan’s ‘target,’ doing the same thing junwoo did to taesan.

more of a subject to his taunts. it's better if you hear it from him directly:
    an excerpt from nineteen nine.
It was better than harassment. That was the only option left.
“I thought you meant we should go back to the way we were, when we didn’t know each other…”
So stop harassing me. I won’t waste any more of your time or mine. I’ll just fade out of your life. Just like I cut off Han Jun-woo, I can cut off Yohan too. Life would be easier that way. If I managed to sever ties with Han Jun-woo after suffering for a year and a half, cutting Yohan out, someone I had known for less than six months, should be no problem.
“I’m begging you...just stop picking fights with me. Please. Huh? I’ll live quietly, like a mouse, okay?”
    “…Ha!”
Go Yohan’s hollow laugh cut through the silence. He didn’t find it funny, not at all. His expression twisted, not with humor, but with something else. A scoff escaped him, a sound laced with disbelief, before a strange smile slowly stretched across his face. He didn’t say a word.
    ....
His words were strange, coming from someone who’d just had a fight with me. He wasn’t even looking at me now. He was staring somewhere off into the distance, eyes filled with something unrecognizable.
“Tell me. You fought with Han Junwoo, latched onto me, and now you’ve fought with me, so who’s next? Who are you going to cling to after this? You’re really good at that, aren’t you? Latching onto people like a bat.”
That. That phrase. Like a bat. It hit me harder than I expected.

And before this, he gaslights Jun about their conversation:
    “… I eat alone.”
“Really?” His voice suddenly brightened, as though something about my answer amused him. Then, without warning, he let out a laugh. Loud, unapologetic. His eyes gleamed with mockery as he looked down at me, his smile widening. He quickly covered his mouth with his hand, but the smile didn’t fade. With the other hand, he waved it around like it was nothing.
“No, no, I wasn’t laughing at you. It’s just... we haven’t had lunch together in forever, and now I feel kind of left out, you know?”
“I told you. My foot’s messed up, my hand’s all messed up, and I don’t have time to study, so I can’t go to the cafeteria.”
I told a blatant lie, though it felt like my very soul was crumbling. What else was I supposed to do? Go Yohan was practically stomping on me. He said not to look at him? What did he think? That no one else would be watching? The whispers were loud enough for anyone to hear, and I could feel them all scraping at my pride. I couldn’t let it die. Not yet.
    “Oh?”
I gripped the mechanical pencil so hard I thought it might break, but I kept my face neutral. My nineteen years of pretending weren’t over yet. But Go Yo-han, who seemed to thrive on tormenting people, crushed any hope I had left.
    “When did you say that?”
"...A while ago. When I first got hurt."
“No, I never heard you say that.”
He covered his mouth with a laugh, like he was savoring the moment.
“What? This is the first I’m hearing about it. Stop lying.”

How do they recover from this?

How do they recover from this? brii

they agree to make up after jun gets into a fight with hwijun (another one of those lackeys who shows up later on) that gets him hospitalised. after this yohan becomes more.. showy about his affection. jun is still wary and even tells yohan he'll transfer, to which yohan responds by saying he'll folllow him anyway lol. so jun says he didn't pass korean university and doesn't attend the school graduation to trick yohan. he still drops by midway though, and they share a kiss.
after this jun ghosts yohan, moves to a dorm near KU, and drops all his contacts.
yohan goes insane looking for him and ends up in KU too. he saves jun from an acid attack after minho comes back for revenge.
