That Arisawa girl should NOT be saying that tf you mean "there's no point being nitpicky"?? That twink is in his 30s and ur 16 Like, look, I know teacher x student is a pretty common trope and all of that, but even then, these types of stories shouldn't just try to normalize it like this. If you're going to write about a problematic topic, then OWN UP TO IT. Admit you like something controversial and morally inadequate. DO NOT DISMISS THE ELEPHANT IN THE ROOM– IT SHOULD STAY THERE. That is the LEAST you can do. Mangas like these who try to act as if it's okay just for the sake of a happy-go-lucky story are the worst way to handle this.
I usually like reading problematic stories w huge age gaps or toxic couples or power imbalance-- but only when those issues are actually discussed as they should be. Trying to paint it over as "everything's fineeee don't worry about, it love is love <3" just makes reading it more uncomfortable than if the issues in question were adresses; everything just starts to sound like apologist bullshit.
Ahem. Sorry for the rant. This issue isn't as heavy here as it is with other stories, but it's still there, so, I ended up getting tucked off. My bad
Overall, it's not that interesting of a story. I couldn't feel any chemistry between these two even in a vacuum where they're the same age, but at least the casual dialogue felt pretty natural so it was nice to read that. The teacher is also so baby-fied I couldn't help but cringe every time they painted him as a damsel in distress there to be saved by the MC. Wouldn't recommend this even if you like teacher x student
Ik this doesn't make it better but wouldn't he be 17-18??? He's legit graduating soon/graduated neo
17 is more correct, since he has to wait a whole year to graduate (and that's a timeskip we don't experience so we just know him at 17). I remember thinking abt this before making my comment, but for some reason I said 16?? Sorry I legit dunno why I made that mistake, my bad
