After soo much time, a believe things are in perspective. But the author hints that the uke keeps stabbing the seme with jokes about the time they were apart to make the seme feel bad
The seme took 3 years looking for the uke. That's why when he finds then he just jumps to say he loves him and he's not going anywhere. It's the message he needs the uke to know above anything else

I think you got the time line wrong. The seme broke up with the uke at 28, got married and then divorced at 32, after that he spent 3 years looking for the uke, they met again and got back together at 36. So it’s 8 years in total, not 11
