From his childhood, why he does boxing, all the things that happen to him, the reason why he's horrible to Kim Dan, the whole story is named after his "jinx" after all! The whole point of this story is to see that Jaekyung despite the facade of mean, ruthless and nonchalant-ness he puts up, is human like everyone else, and just like Kim Dan he doesn't want to be alone, so throughout the plot he realises that he doesn't need to keep that tiring facade all the time and that it's OKAY to let his guard down. That's when he realises his mistakes and feels guilty for it. And now at this point in the story, he's working to salvage whatever he can between his and Dan's relationship because he genuinely enjoys Dan's company and still wants him around in his life. That's my wallet on this matter, you're welcome to judge the story as you wish.
