I LOVE THIS ANGST!!! It feels so real and authentic, not manufactured due to unnecessary miscommunication or the ML being a one-dimensional dickhead to the FL. This is actual creativity in writing. An actual plot and an actual reason for disagreement. This and 'Death is the only ending for the villainess' seem to be the only ones relying on characters' personalities and good storyline for angst.
Also, Kael is understandable in his request to move on, and not just focus on destroying diana. But DUDE, you cannot ask your current wife for sympathy and leniency towards your first love. That can only backfire. Especially since she LIVED through a timeline where she saw you die of misery at Diana's hands. The only possible conclusion the FL would draw is that you still love diana, because you still want to save diana even after knowing she kills you. The FL can only think all her efforts were fruitless, coz he is only ever going to love Diana
To add to this, i would like this angst to continue a while longer, and for Kael to work his ass off to earn the FL's love and trust back. Because if he can put in this effort to save Diana in 2 lifetimes, he should put in effort to earn FL's forgiveness. She deserves it.
It has more angst in the novel. You’d feel bad with Hess and get to understand more why she felt that way. If I remember it correctly, Kael didnt leave her and stood by her coz he got scared since he saw himself (in the past) with Hess, the pain she felt when Kael is trying to stay neutral.
