I think a manhwa like [ A Ghostly Song ] where its an actual horror thriller plot w/ romance as a subplot would fit your complaint more than this
Theres more to a story than just shipping characters, looking in the comments no ones even talking abt the plot frl theyre just saying “oh hes a yandere and i think thats so hot” or something idk but it gets a bit aggravating when i just wanna know how people feel about the plot putting the romance aside because thats clearly not the main point of the story, no offense
Well I guess i get where you're coming from. There are mystery and thriller elements into this manhwa because of the ml. I guess you wanted to talk about his motives? That man is mentally unstable no doubt but the way I see it his motives will end up being some kind of twisted form of love for the fl and then its gonna spiral back to how the fl is also kinda fucked up in the head.
Then again though, the way the manhwa presents this story isn't straightforward as most yandere stories do. We kinda see how this man chooses his victims, kills for his trophies, and the way he schemes instead of just blatantly saying "yeah I killed him for no particular reason at all". We also see how his actions affect the real word with the detective, unlike other stories where it really only focuses on the couple. We dont even know if the man has consequences to face
But still, the core of it all IS still some kind of affection he holds for the fl— albeitly fucked up but its the psychology of things i guess. Thats why I said its just a really well made yandere love story. Because the plot still revolves around that "love" and not some other issue that isnt connected to that "love".

She literally shines to him, he sees her not as a human or romantic interest, he sees her as an object, quite like the flower, the pen, the watch and the lighter he took from the people he killed, she is nothing more than a shiny object he wants to add to his collection and is having fun killing the insects harming his shiny object. I see no sexual desire or romantic interest here, but I wanna know how he's gonna add her to his trophies cause it's the first time he sees a human shine, I'm curious to see what he'll do to her
