Apparently, dragons can revive their mates once if they died and the process is that the dragons will swallon the dead body of thier mates and vomit them but it will change the appearance of thier mate qhere their mate's eyes will change according to the color of the dragon and sometimes it will caus ethier mates memories or personalities to change so yanu teally want to avoid that

Actually in novel he suffered from eyra illusion magic a lot more but it seems like they cut that part. Hehe now yanu fully convinced if eyra is his mate. But really ain't that great he meet 20+ years old eyra, at least no grooming and guys when the mate consume dragon magic stone they stuck with that appearance. Buttt yanu did mention he doesn't like old or too young so eyra age now just perfect.
