spoilers + my review

i skimmed the raws, it's not completed, it's at chapter 45 i'm pretty sure. i'll go over the next 20 chapters (might leave some stuff out i forgot, i'll try to keep it accurate lol) and then i'll give my review. as of chapter 27 we get left off in the middle of the male lead's backstory. the 1st male lead was an omega to his parents' disdain and was pretty much neglected and had his life micromanaged by them. one day, his father was talking to a close friend, the 2nd male lead's father, and they were discussing surgically altering an omega to become an alpha. this surgery was still experimental, and the 1st male lead overheard, recorded it, followed the 2nd male lead's father, and convinced him to give him the surgery. 1st male lead has the surgery done, and then there's a time skip, a few years later the 2nd male lead comes to his doctor's office or study and sees the 1st male lead again. after the backstory, the main character and 2nd male lead get married. it's a marriage of convenience, but the 2nd male lead has feelings for the main character. the main character still isn't over the 1st male lead and gets very depressed. he promises not to hurt the 2nd male lead because he's aware of his feelings. i think there was a time skip, a year maybe, to them being at a wedding boutique. the 2nd male lead leaves to try on a suit, and it turns out the 1st male lead is in that same store. the main character sneaks away to meet him. he fucks the 1st male lead in the dressing room. the 2nd male lead comes out and smells the 1st male lead on the main character. anyway, skip to the male lead's engagement party, they fuck again, but the 2nd male lead saw this time, they don't know he saw. he leaves the party, goes to the parking lot, and the main character finds him there. the 2nd male lead gets jealous, kisses him, and the main character pulls away quickly. i'm pretty sure they had a fight. another skip to the 1st male lead's wedding (i don't think this one was actually a skip lmao i forgot what happened). the bride never shows up, and the 1st male lead exposes his parents' abuse and also that he had surgery to change his second gender. he disappears, and before the main character can go find him, the 2nd male lead puts his scarf on him. stuff happens and they leave the country, somewhere in europe i'm pretty sure. the last chapter in the raws i read left off with them finding out that the parents came back to south korea or something, i forgot. i'd give this a 5/10 if it ended with them leaving the country, but it feels like the plot is just being dragged on and on and onnn. i did not like the infidelity in the mc and 2nd ml's relationship at alllllllll and i hated that the mc didn't have a backbone. i love pathetic characters, god knows i eat them up every time, but this main character was just too much for me.

My biggest problem with this is it’s a little too realistic for its own good. Take out the omega part and it’s more of toxic masculinity and feeling inferior if they take the Uke which is dumb in itself. The big hype about omegaverse is the ability for two males to have children together and the ML deciding to get surgery to become an alpha takes that away from the MC just because the mentality about bottoming annoys him <_<.

sorry for the super late response!! yeah, now that you mention it, i do think it was more of a deep insecurity thing. the stigma around bottoming definitely plays a role, but i don’t think that was the entire reason he went through with the surgery. if i remember correctly, when he was still presenting as an omega, he basically had zero control over his life—his parents micromanaged everything, treated him like a pawn, and he never got to make his own choices. after becoming an alpha, it’s not like that magically changed, but i think he felt like he had more freedom, or at least more power to push back a little. so to me, the surgery wasn’t just about gender or dynamics, but more about him trying to take back control in the only way he knew how. like, it’s sad as hell, but also kinda understandable from his perspective.

i did really like the idea of the plot it definitely had potential and could’ve been something really complex and heavy in a good way, but the execution just didn’t land for me. the pacing was weird and the emotional beats didn’t always hit.

Just rereading ch 28 the level of manipulation is so inappropriate. The ML could have sent a letter or a message, he could have done something. Both male leads suck though because in the end the MC wanted to have his own children but with both male leads wanting to be the top neither of them understand how that affected the MC. The other part is that the MC got mind fooked- ghosting him for that long without a single response - it made the MC so obsessive- Also it’s not fair because the MC wasn’t exactly given a choice in any of this. Had the ML told the MC his true feelings before he ghosted him I don’t feel like the MC would have had the same ending. If the ML didn’t want to be the bottom he needed to say something earlier on so the MC had a choice on whether or not he wanted to stay :/ I just really don’t like this story

About ML getting surgery - it’s his choice and he had the right to do it, he didn’t “take away” anything from the MC, wth? It’s the same as when people in the real life change their sex surgically. It’s their choice. He didn’t feel ok imagining MC fucking him, it’s not about “mentality”, it’s about internal feelings. And “love” can’t change it.
There’re many other omegaverse stories where omegas are being discriminated but they still sleep with alphas, in this case it’s different - ML obviously didn’t “feel” like an omega.

(And even if he still was an omega - it doesn’t mean that he would have children. If I am a woman it doesn’t mean that I’ll have children (bc I don’t want to have them). And I don’t “take away” anything from my boyfriend in this case, since it’s not for him to decide, bc it’s not about his body.)

MC always had a choice - he could just move on and forget the ML. He decided to look for the ML himself, nobody forced him. If someone starts ghosting you - you always have a choice to move on/start hating this person etc. Usually people do so. And ghosting itself can’t make someone obsessive…
I’m sure that even if the ML had told the MC about his true feelings before ghosting him, the MC would still have been looking for him.

You have a difference of opinion which is valid- but ghosting has is known to have mental affects on people because they never get closure and some people will always want to know why. There is j nothing wrong with trans people - if my partner decided to transition I wouldn’t care because I love them but we have been together for 5 years but still regardless the options weren’t or not to stay would have been up to the MC and the ML didn’t exactly give him that opportunity and also it’s been said more than once that the MC became obsessive worried that the ML was locked away somewhere and wouldn’t give up- had the ML told the MC the truth about everything ahead of time the MC had a choice on what he wanted to do- IN terms of children it’s still a conservation couples have- I have always been someone to find out early whether or not the other person wanted kids- if they never wanted kids it’s an immediate deal breaker because we want different things-

We will agree to disagree on this
