I want to preface by saying that what Keitha says about Seyard is not some overdramatic lie in the first chapter. When I first started this I was like "oh it's gonna be another one of those stories where there's a dumb misunderstanding and then they get back together, this is just angst bait". IT IS NOT!!!!! This story seems to be a reconstruction and critique of the classic troupes of historical romance such as "the perfect coincidental meetings" and "I still love this man even tho he killed someone, I can fix him". It literally turns from a romance to a psychological thiller.

Seyard is Visherk all along. He sets up their first meeting because they've met before in the past and Keitha got traumatized and forgot about it. He was manipulating her the entire time and set up a whole scheme for her to suspect him and recall the memories. The real Seyard did plan to kill Visherk but Visherk knew about it and when Seyard was begging for his life Visherk kills him anyways (he lies to Keitha and tells her it was self defense but she knows he's bs-ing). He also drugs Keitha with sleeping pills and says that now that she knows everything he can show the full extent of his love, but it truly just seems like obsession.
Keitha runs away right before their wedding with the help of a noblewoman named Mamoa who owns a trading company. Keitha's family and Seyard say she's just very sick so that's why they had to hold the wedding back but the public do suspect that something seems off.
A higher up? captain? of the trading company named Gale helps Keitha arrive safely in another countries small village and she lives happily with a woman and her daughter who don't really know anything about her situation. Gale visits monthly/weekly to check in and give gifts.
Keitha finds she's pregnant and Gale offers her to get an abortion. She decides not to bc she's always wanted a family and even if her kid might look and act like her abuser at first she can raise them with love and care and they'll end up differently (it's really sweet how she puts it).
Gale and Keitha learn that Seyard is sneaking around asking literally every person Keitha talked to if they know where she is. Unbeknownst to them Seyard actually has an informant tracking Gale literally just bc he gave Seyard "a bad look" when Seyard went to question Manoa and that Gale went to one of Keitha's favorite sweet shops.
Keitha and Gale find they have to move locations because a suspicious man is lurking around the village and Keitha has to say goodbye (it's so sad) but Seyard is already there stalking them (he's so scary). Gale and Keitha move to a nearby city but Seyard tricks Keitha into opening the door by using Gale's secret knock.
Now Seyard isn't exactly an angry, betrayed character. He is instead very manipulative and knows how to play emotions correctly. He gets into her room and while he's asking for Keitha to come back a knock is at the door but from Gale. Seyard tells her to answer the door and she does a smidge and Gale thinks she's hiding from him bc of an awkward interaction the night before. He says her suspicions are right and he confesses his love for her and says she doesnt have to reciprocate he just wants to help her and her future kid be happy (their build up is actually pretty sweet but I'm trying to keep this short which I'm failing miserably at ) (Keitha btw did suspect his feelings but wasnt really ready for anything cause she's still coping from Seyard and her leftover feelings). She tries to get him to stop talking cause Gale doesn't know Seyard is in the room but Gale leaves to give Keitha some alone time. Seyard doesn't really react to any of that but does figure out Keitha is pregnant.
He continues visiting for days basically lovebombing her wanting her to come back and Keitha knows that it's almost impossible to escape from him now. She gives up, mentally and physically exhausted from her pregnancy and Seyard, and agrees to go back with him. But makes him agree to not harm Gale and the family she was previously staying with (she knows Seyard would most def try to get rid of Gale slyly especially now that he knows Gale likes Keitha). And on the way back they stay at a hotel and when Keitha is alone in the room she hears Gale's secret knock at the door!!!
And now I'm left on a cliffhanger again like you guys waiting for the rest of the novel chapters to be translated. Also BTW a lot of other stuff happens before this big reveal (Visherk is Seyard) but I cut it cause I already wrote so much but if ppl want to know I'll share lmao

Yas I can, but tbh I kinda skipped most of Daniel's chapters cause I was sick of him lol. Soon I believe Hazel goes to visit Keitha begging her to take Daniel back cause he's so miserable without her. Keitha ofc goes hell no. Hazel and Daniel continue to have a unhealthy relationship throughout the story.

What ends up happening to Daniel is he snoops around a lot to find more info about Seyard, and a preist who was in the monastery with Seyard and a count agree to go with Daniel to plea for Keitha to leave Seyard. They say Seyard planned and killed his brother Visherk and that Seyard is dangerous (the priest actually did witness the planning of the real Seyard but he and the Count are actually in cahoots with "Seyard"/Visherk to make Keitha suspect him). Daniel also gets beaten to an inch of his life but I don't remember when lmao but he still kept snooping.

The ending for Daniel is that Keitha hears from her Father that Daniel is in jail for being in a royal conspiracy and in best case gets life in prision and worse case execution. She hears this when the big reveal (Visherk is Seyard) already happened and she is trying to convince her dad to cancel the engagement without saying too much. Since the father gave this info willingly she can tell he too also knows Daniel is too dumb to pull off that scheme and that Seyard set him up but the dad ofc didn't care and still wants her to continue the engagement.

When hope was nearly lost since Keitha didn't have enough of her own money to run away, Hazel turns up wishing to give Keitha a large amount of the reward money from selling out Daniel. Keitha accepts it but asks Hazel how she was able to cut Daniel off even though she loved him. Hazel answers that Daniel did it first by harboring an "an obsession with something he couldn't have" aka Keitha (mirroring Keitha and Seyard)

Do the dark parts feel fetishized or romanticized or is it just pure dark dark?

This story seems so interesting, finally a plot where the Mc doesn't meet a good person in their contract marriage.

Pure dark dark, Keitha at first tries really hard to trust Seyard because he told her "Suspicion and love do not go together" (he later says he lied about that because he wanted her to suspect him the whole time with his scheme) and it is hard to watch Keitha try to blindly trust Seyard the whole time before he openly shows his true colors. After he does, Keitha processes and does actions very similar to an abuse victim and the story does not excuse Seyard at all even tho he has his crazy reasons. Hopefully the manwha depicts it the same way!

Seyard and Keitha go on a official date. It's all cute and stuff, he gives her too many gifts, she's ashamed of hers, all that classic stuff I'm sure we're all familiar with. The notable parts are 1. They go to a show and Keitha compliments the violinist, Gabriel and 2. Keitha gives Seyard a handkerchief that she wove his initials into. He makes a face but it quickly changes and he says he's thankful.

Later, for their engagement prep, Keitha finds Seyard hired Gabriel as their violinist for their engagement ceremony and that Seyard is sponsoring him to continue his education in a country focused on music. Keitha also thinks Gabriel has a crush on Seyard.

Yeah, anyways Keitha goes to the princesses teaparty to deliver their engagement invitation to the princess. There's some conflict but it gets to her and the princess opens the invitation to be shocked and suspicious. Keitha can't find anything wrong with the invitation but discards the event as the princess just being upset about their eventual marriage.

Keitha tries to get close to Gabriel out of guilt bc she didn't want to make him play at the ceremony of his unrequited love. Seyard notices this and gets jealous and intimidates Keitha to try to find out what they've been talking about. Keitha says it's Gabriel's personal matters.

During the engagement ceremony, Keitha overhears Gabriel talking to someone saying that he'll have a serious convo about their feelings. Keitha, thinking Gabriel is going to confess his love to Seyard, follows him to his rendezvous. She finds it's actually Gabriel and Princess Arta and that they were secret lovers. Gabriel laments to Arta about how he can't continue bc he wants to be free of this relationship to continue his career and stop their toxicity. Arta responds by threatening and saying "he'll never escape her" and continuously assaults him until he would admit that he'll give up on his plans. Keitha tries to interrupt this to save Gabriel but Seyard pops out of nowhere and holds her back telling Keitha she'd just make the situation more complicated. She agrees.

The next day, Gabriel requests that Seyard find an escape route and refuge where the princess will never find him, even tho it means he can't continue his violinist career. Keitha and Seyard agree and Gabriel gives the parting words of telling Keitha that you always comes first when it comes to love. He successfully departs.

The next day after this the princess arrives unannounced to their abode and looks in all of the rooms saying she's searching for something. Of course, she comes up with nothing and snidely remarks how it's "interesting that both brothers have identical tastes in women". Seyard makes a face but changes the subject and gets her to leave. The comment leaves Keitha confused but she brushes it off. (Also Keitha figures out later on that Seyard def knew about Arta and Gabriel's relationship and only originally sponsored him to torment Arta and so she wouldnt continue to bother Keitha after she delivers the invitation, he literally plans everything out in this story like 100 steps ahead)

Later on in the story after the runaway arc and Seyard is dragging Keitha back she learns that Gabriel is preforming again in the country and sees him preform. However, Keitha is too ashamed to talk to him since she didn't successfully run away from her abuser like he did and she feels like a hypocrite. I believe Arta also is now in a relationship with another performer? I kinda skimmed that part sorry
