I heard it from Korean women who was going through divorce, also from for foreigners who wants divorce.
There's a case going on right now in my country, bc a influencer (who is the same nationality as mine) who married a Korean man and move to live in his country. She basically documented his and his family abuse against her on TikTok. She wants to get a divorce but she still decided to stay bc she wouldn't be allowed near her children anymore.

Check out Choi Jin-Sil (actress). Had to search up facts. Seems like she did won but unfortunately died. But seems like S Korea is be giving favour to their 'men' when it comes to cross-culture marriage.
But facts aside, this so-called mother didn't even once saw her child from afar, not even once; to check for her well being. And that sick. Can't stand to check her all happy when not even once she has thought about meeting up w him after all these years (till now). Might change my mind if there's a backdrop to her reluctance.
(I already commented it last chapter but since this conversation still going)
To ppl asking why the mom (and manhwa mother in general) run away without the kids: in Korea the sole custody usually stays with the dad, if she took the child she can be treated as a kidnapper legally.
I wear extremely sad real life stories about husbands that used their kids as a bargain chip to abuse the wives bc they knew she wouldn't be able to take the kids
