It’s simply because it doesn’t have actual independent thoughts nor a conscience outside of Hikaru’s body. Because of how much time we’ve spent with it and how much we’ve gotten to know it, all with it being in hikaru’s body, we have truly forgotten what it really is: an impurity who’s only reason for existence is to grant wishes. It’s truly sad and it’s likely that it’ll possess the child’s body, but who knows what direction the author will take.
