They took the translation where half of chapter 18 is missing. The funny thing is that most translation you see on several website have the same source, the older ones have half of chapter 18 missing and the newer ones chapter 17. The only english fan translation which is really is complete ( until the author releases the next sidestory) I know of at the moment has not all chapters unlocked, so you have to pay.
I link you one of those which has chapter 17 missing, but you can read the missing half of chapter 18 there and the side stories ( starting vol.2 there), if you want. I thinks it's not the best translation compared to the incomplete official and the other translation I mentioned, but it's not bad either.

One thing is if something is missing, another things is the quality of the translation. Some seems to look fine, but if you start comparing them and have access to the orginal, it's more obvious if something is wrong. In the ones where half of chapter 18 is missing it's obvious, it jumps from arriving at the hospital to an ambush. The ones where chapter 17 is missing, you wonder what they are talking about when it comes up what happened there.

Another problem is that the author tends to revise her stories, especially when they are turned from webnovel chapters to volumes there are often some changes.
Happened recently with Desire me if you can, she changed and added things (she even did it a few times while the webnovel was still in progress), so if the fan translators who translated the novel live are not aware of it or don't care, there will be differences.
Where did you read the novel? Maybe it was a crappy translation, cuz the novel is fantastic
