Ya crucifixion is some sort of punishment to prisoners around ancient time(?) is like one of the cruelest and dishonorable way to die honestly...they're probably giving torture to those they hang on the cross..
Yes, that's why when Jesus was hanged on the cross, he was also with two other criminals who were punished the same way (except they weren't nailed in).
