I don't think he's angry at Courtney. I think he's angry at the King. He's trying to gently talk around here because she's not aware that he's using her to get his son to do what he wants him to do and so that's why he's so frustrated cuz he doesn't want to show his bad side to Courtney but he's so furious with his father right now
