Looking for a retro BL manga set in the 90s

Does anyone know this BL manga, I want to reread it but forget the title, it's pretty old, and kinda tragic, the story takes place in New York in the 90s, all I remember is the plot:

It follows the life of a New York cop admired and appreciated by all his colleagues, while Battling with others’ expectations. For fear of disappointing his loved ones and being discovered, at a time when being out could cost him dearly, he hides his homosexuality and forbids himself from any committed relationships. Until the day his path crosses a quiet and gentle young man who is in fact an orphan with a troubled past, he realizes at once that his whole world is about to change. An encounter that will turn their lives upside down.
