Yea he does. That's why in the next chapter, the grandfather decides to return the energy back to geumryang by letting go and passing away.
He talks to MC at the mountains, kind of like saying his goodbyes and how he's ready to meet uke's parents in heaven. And in Geumryang's dream, as Geumryang is watching little uke past images the grandfather appears to say his goodbyes, kinda talks to him ask him to look after the uke. The chapter ends with grandpa leaving the dream, Geumryang extending his arm to stop grandpa from leaving but gets stop by uke's hug, then Geumryang wakes up next to a sleeping uke wearing funeral clothes. T_T

NOOOOOOOO I kinda expect this to happen, that grandpa will sacrify for them but the way it's happened is too angsty for my little heart :(((((((((((((((
