I feel like I've explained this thousand times. It's because in the beach episode, Xinlu will take Tay no matter what, dead or alive, if Tay dies, xinlu will just make Tay a body pillow. it's as if he never cared Tay's well being and health. In UNHRDO, when Xinlu forcibly tried his way on Tay, especially when he tried pushing his ACL while Ilay, when Tay's knees started to hurt, Ilay immediately kneeled down and helped Tay get ice pack for his knee. And Changin, his supposed to be relative, never care if Tay dies or not, he wanted to use Tay to steal the equations from his brother and if someone discovers the embezzlement, all leads to Taeui, so even if Tay gets home after 6 months in UNHRDO, he will get track down in his and get killed or arrested. When people who supposedly his closest friends in UNHRDO starting turning their backs in Tay bc he was unwillingly become Ilay's assistant instructor. Nobody cares if Tay dies or hurt himself meanwhile Ilay gets angry on his behalf when Tay gets hurt or injured. That's why Tay cares on Ilay. Not Stockholm Syndrome.
