I think the issue for Jay is his weak heart, if he exerts himself beyond a certain point, it burdens his heart and then he gets dizzy/passes out. (tbh i wonder how much physical stuff Jay can even get done because if this )

See I get that but I feel like Jay SHOULD probably learn self defense considering he’s weak physically due to his heart, like he’s literally been kidnapped almost twice.
Learning even just a little bit of self defense is always useful, especially considering Jay needs it the most out of everyone
It seems like he’s the type to show his concern by trying to discourage the other by not doing said activity to protect them. It’s not that he doesn’t want him to learn self defense, it’s that he’s worried about him getting hurt by learning (and participating in the groups activities) so he’s trying to prevent Jay from doing these things in the only way his uncommunicative self can lolol
I understand him not wanting Jay to get hurt but he’s sort of babying Jay by telling him not to learn something entirely after literally just one fall. Like instead of that Chicago could’ve offered to teach him himself, or be a spotter so that Jay doesn’t fall and get injured again.
