i think its more like “i beat my asses to death to get out from the poverty, so you have to do the same” kinda mentality, which is not an uncommon thing around the new money people
this! when people out of poverty get money, they want to forget their ‘old’ life and *only* indulge in their new one. its a very common thing. even their own memory of the past gets mixed up
