I disagree in one aspect. It wasn't just that Yasu was patting a kouhai's head. It was THAT kouhai. The one who fucked him first. The one who confessed and has been trying for ages to seduce his senpai again. The one who got straight man Yasu to offer his ass to another man just because his kouhai confessed and bawled his eyes out.
Honestly, you have to think that there was SOME feelings there for him to just do it like that.
Rikuou has been harboring unrequited feelings for 10 years. He's had his heart torn asunder by finding out that someone else got what he desired and thought was never possible. Someone else seduced the man he had loved all these years.
And now he's just supposed to believe Yasu? When he waffled on his feelings for Rikuou all this time that Rikuou was being earnest in how he felt and loved Yasu? How can you? How can you believe a man who has hurt you so much even if unintentionally?
And back to the head patting it's just like seeing the person you love and are trying to have a relationship with but things keep happening that interfere and you catch them with their ex in a sort of romantic moment and this is after them playing with your feelings for ages. So you just quit. You get tired of everything and just decide, 'fine, I'm going to stop pursuing this. I'm done of hurting myself over something that will never happen.'
Can you really blame him for that?
To add to what akuma_river said, you can't really count when Yasu said 'I love you' as a confession. He said that right after telling Rikuro that having sex with him was gross. Even though at the first chapter he said it was okay doing it with his kouhai and then later on he thinks that he didn't thought he would enjoy sex with another man but he enjoyed fucking his kouhai. And let us not forget that this is the same man that he stated that he wanted to be a father just to make Rikuro back off and right after that he tells him he wants to try it.
Rikuro's insecurities that you use as excuses for Yasu are all consequences of Yasu's actions and insensibility. Yasu was the one that made all of this things happen. Rikuro was trying really hard to hold on but the other idiot just made it impossible. And a person can't really hold on forever in such a situation.

(He wasn't simply a kouhai but he patted his head as a sempai) There were a lot of times when Yasu saw Rikorou with his subordinate but Yasu never felt hate or jealousy towards her.
And hun, both of you can never get it right without communication. But good lawd if I was Yasu and Rikorou stop bothering me, I'd probably give up. Overall it was a good read. Esp the last volume where numerous emotions were dealt with. I somehow hated Rikorou being a dick in here tho. After 10 years of loving Yasu, he'd suddenly stop out of nowhere because of his insecurity. And just when Yasu confessed to him! I would've understand if Yasu didn't say anything and walked out, but he didn't. Instead, he confessed. Was expecting Rikorou to hug him, but he let him go just like that, which sucked. Again, the concept was nice and totally understandable since I've read a lot of similar plots already (Main A likes Main B for years, confesses to him, does everything he can to make Main B his, but suddenly pulls out just when Main B starts loving him) and I have nothing against thay concept. But it would've been better if Rikorou's thoughts like how insecure he was. How his actions might hurt Yasu because of his willfulness Idk. Wait wtf idk. I DON'T KNOW. I'm not even sure why Rikorou pulled out in the first place! I thpught it was for insecurity, but he mentioned that "he pushed Yasu too far" or idk he repented and said that he took advantage of Yasu. Aight now I figured it out. He was actually insecure that's why he chose to make an excuse (that he is pushing Yasu) and felt that Yasu was just disillusioned by him. Oh ya I get it lolol anyway THAT WAS MY POINT. It lacks detail. It's not enough. Seriously similar to Gekkouzaka no Hanayashiki (same author) where the concept was really good but it lacks details on thoughts and inner feelings from the characters.
And again, despite all that, I STILL LOVE SENSEI. Sensei writes good stories (Meguriao, Baby is my fave hehe)
