My theory is that authors are afraid of having to develop the MLs’ feelings toward their deceased wives, so it doesn’t end up looking like their love for the FLs is incomplete?? I think that’s silly, but honestly, with the way these authors think, it’s hard for it to happen.
Ik I’m gonna get thumbs down like hell, but I’m waiting for an author to be different and actually have the kid be the ml or fl actually parent instead of an aunt or uncle who’s raising the kid because their sibling died. Nothing wrong with these type of stories, but they’re millions of the same stale plot lol.
