long story short: yurigel kills a descendant of a dragon and uses his body to harbor mana for the magic circle. they fought yurigel. the mage defeated him sort of & b/c two grand magicians were fighting + dragon mana, there was a lot of mana which opened up a portal to mc’s house. mc leaves & duke follows right after. mio stays behind to raise the prince. the mage stays behind to help him too but he eventually leaves when the prince is of age. descendant of the dragon was from the empire so the empire demanded the ppl who were liable for their prince’s death. they send yurigel and the emperor and bam! we never see them again.
mio and the mage stayed behind to raise the prince b/c yurigel and the emperor were taken to the empire as prisoners for killing their prince. the empress never cared for the prince because he’s not her kid + she dies pretty soon afterwards. the mage never intended to stay, he only stayed until the prince was of age. mio and the mage want the prince to get married but the prince doesn’t want to get married so they both suggest women to him. coincidentally, both women look like ash because ash if mio and the mage’s type. they want someone who is good and ash is good in their eyes so they instinctively picked women who looked like ash
