He is the emperor. His word goes
Imagine you, a low life noble with family debt of THOUSANDS of moneys.... Get picked by the PRINCE, snd marry him not knowing a single thing about upper class etiquette, then the EMPEROR asks you to do something.... Would you take it as manipulation or an opportunity to show that you can be helpful despite your previous low level?
Also the Emperor is manipulating his son to get to the throne so he can rest (something the prince doesn't want) (both are lazy btw) using Courtney because she is actually a responsible and competent adult that can rein the Prince's temper in.

Her mom and family always get their way and she ends paying and fixing everything claiming it's the last time.
Her own husband lured her and makes shit up so she behaves how He wants, like did you even read the last 2 chapters?
Wish she acted more like the dad, I don't like her getting manipulated all the time by the husband.
It just gives dumb at some points, like she's smart enough to plot and see shit coming from far way but she falls for these stupid tricks?
