I think other people make it more awkward than it has to be. If I had a sheet like that I'd just go "let's get this over with" but I'm often in a situation where the other person avoids looking at me, doesn't reply, ect

i never had deskmates in hs so idg how hard it is to just talk to the person beside you lol

Not necessarily with a desk mate but in my hs we got forced into groups with random people aall the time
