Just getting the feeling he won't let them happen since he finally has his hands on her now. Idk if its manipulation or he's trying to save her (kinda like she might have been depressed or suicidal in the past and this time he wants her to be happy) just a guess since the plot is so intriguing and keeping us off the hook!
Haha yeah, he was even thinking of making her immortal!! I was just using that because it's the one I remember, but there are many instances where he mentioned "outer space" or "universe". I think his words and actions are sometimes literal, like it's true with no hidden meanings or puns.
