Im reading comments going against the detective???? Yall are deadass stupid bc he's doing things the only way he can without getting stopped by the guardian before he can even talk to the mc, who is CLEARLY in danger and being stalked by the guardian (cctvs everywhere, wiretaps and those men following him wherever he goes) and consequently he NEEDS (for his SAFETY) to be wary and know the truth. And i'll have you remember, the guardian literally ADMITTED that he KILLED the mc's mother. So there's clearly something wrong. Only thing that can save him is a big plot twist where the parents/other people he killed were out for the mc's life. Otherwise i hope the mc wakes tf up and gets out of there.
