At first, I didn't even feel like reading the new chapter. The author fucked up introducing a tragic past this late, an old enemy, this late, just to show Encrid's growth. It's so difficult to take him seriously, talking about revenge, all solemn, when that revenge fell into his lap, and he didn't even think about it once all this time
That's because as he stated the revenge wasn't his goal, he actually didn't care for revenge

Maybe it's to show us how far he came. Where a person he once considered a comrade would spare his life just because he was considered super weak. Besides, he did care for the other squad he had before, and maybe it's to just show us one of his traumas. I don't know if this makes sense

Yup as much as I adore this series I think it has a problem for introducing backstories, characters or mechanics right before they gonna be used, so setup sometimes feels kind of lackluster, like oh there's new character/ skill presented? It's definitely gonna be used in next chapter or two. I just hope in the future author will set things up earlier, so they can naturally fall into place ^^
Even though it's this manhwa, apex of them all....
