Most likely since hanu revers omegas as precious while in other places, like his birthplace treat them as less then nothing.

Yes, that’s the vibe I got once it became obvious Thorne was trying to keep the king out of this dirty deal. It’s clear omegas are viewed as lesser, but it feels like he at least chose a country that would treat his “inferior” son well.
It’s also a ridiculous political move because he’s risking political/trade conflict or even war to pull off this bullshit switch. Even if there wasn’t a strong emotional connection, just the optics of another nation taking and replacing your spouse, second highest power in the land without any warning, input, or agreement would demand a forceful response.
Can’t help but feel he’s dumb and ignorant because he clearly knows nothing about how revered omegas are in the desert and MC’s beloved status. He’s just mindlessly assuming nobody would give enough of a shit about a specific omega to cause a fuss when they’re trading him for a precious alpha princess. He wants to pass the shittiest situation to the omega at the cost of everything else.

It really comes down to classism? I don’t know which word best fits here sorry, but that’s absolutely correct.

Omegas are just worthless till they can be used as tools, but he is really stupid since this very chapter admits that he knows omegas are seen as a higher being in hanu. And it’s why he detests the hanu blood in his child’s veins.

So why piss off hanu? Because hanus still trying to get things back in order with the throne takeover, so they’re currently down on manpower. They assume alpha will always be best even if it’s hanu, hence sending a strong alpha woman to him.

And it’s moronic to think that another country would want someone who’s one, an omega like others detest, and two. A divorced omega, used goods, sloppy seconds. (I’m so sorry beautiful queen)

Wouldn’t the other country take offense to that? The brother claims it’s due to a power imbalance but why should our queen give two shits? He doesn’t belong to you anymore you daft cunt. :/

He’s got some cognitive dissonance going on. He knows omegas are treated well in Hanu, but can barely comprehend the idea of treating them like normal people, much less revering them, so his bigot blinders are in overdrive. He’s likely just underestimating the treatment omegas get there while assuming the hierarchy of value must be the same, so if omegas are treated that well, alphas must have it even better.

Whether the enemy country is interested in an omega bride depends on what they want out of the contract. There is also a difference between a wife, second wife, consort, or concubine, so there are very different dynamics for each. You’re right that it’s unlikely anyone would want Ilyaas a wife, but Omegas are often seen as prostitutes just for existing so it’s possible that will be his role for whoever is on the other end of this contract.

However it is likely that they could take offense at being sent the formerly married omega when other members of the royal family are unwed. My dark theory is that Thorne wants to send someone expendable as a hostage so he can easily go back on the peace agreement. Being sent a lowly omega instead of someone else from the royal family could also make the other nation suspect the intent of Romeridall because Hanu is the only nation that would actually curtail self serving behavior to protect the life of an omega

It's laughable that they think omegas are useless but use those omegas only to maintain the peace. My beautiful queen only deserves the best and that piece of shit of a brother needs to fuck off
