This is so fucking real. I feel the same about people constantly using the grape emoji and being coy about the word rape. I know most people are just joking when they say “nahhhh Jiwook gotta khs” but we really gotta examine why people will say shit like “I’d rather DIE than be raped!” As if there is no other option for victims after they’ve reached the apparent nadir of human suffering than to die.
I really hate bringing real life shit into fiction, but some of the comments are seriously insane. I know it's not the intention of some commenters, but some of the comments almost read like if you've ever experienced this level of traumatic rape that it 'makes sense' to just end your life. That death would be better than rape.
It's very careless wording.
Rape is a deplorable action in itself, but it doesn't (or shouldn't) taint the victim for the rest of their life. It's a wound that stays, but doesn't have to define the person's whole existence. I hope people know that.
