Exactly... Clearly no one here is feeling bad for him or making excuses for his behavior lol the point is simply to add depth to his character
I can honestly feel bad for him and not justify what he did, my step dad was a horrible man. I hate that man, but I still empathize with the child he was and what his parents did to him. There are very few people I can feel no empathy for, but my empathy doesn't mean I forgive or forget what harm has been caused.
That's a nice perspective to have. It's possible to hate him and sympathize with him at the same time. Hate him for the monsters he's become and the torment he's caused others, but pity him for the irrefutably traumatic events he was forced to experience.
Yes ppl can sympathize for the child jk, but what sympathy does the adult jk deserve?
I think the backstory isn't here to justify his current action nor to make u feel bad, but rather to give explanation on why he behave like that... Those things are different
