Well, it would take a long time for him to change the mindset of his nation, and if he did make laws, I'm 100 percent sure that Throne (seeing how stupid, prideful and stubborn, it was to late for him) would have changed it and sent his brother to marry someone who treats omega the same or worse. It's like how people treated women back then ( and there still are places that do), like property, and used to solidify connections with powerful/influential people through marriage.
Huey will probably be the setting stone that will bring change, probably teaching his children and people around him.

Yeah there's no excuse for the king b/c the main reason he hated his son wasnt even b/c he was an omega. And he did nothing at all in the years his son was away. No one expects 100% change, but i do expect progress to help make that change and the king did none of that. The king basically pulled a "i think its wrong how ppl are treated but I'll do no such advocacy to help their situation"

I'm not making an excuse, it just shows that the father is an ass who shows some emotion to his son, but not his people. He was stuck in his ways, but slightly shifted when he got an omega son, though he never took a step to change his behavior or Throne (too late for him, honestly), it was realistic (I know people like this). Since reading and learning stories (fictional and nonfictional) from Ancient times, when parents or family members would send/sell their daughters to unfavorable men and areas, for money and power, though there were outliers to this. So, I'm glad that he sent Ilad to a place that treats omegas better and were seen as people.
Anyway, Huey will be the beginning mark for change, unlike his father and grandfather.
I'm betting that the father married Ilya to Hanu because he knows the omega there are treated better there than in their country.
