In the actual main story and not side stories, I wouldn’t really call it a chasing arc. Or rather, not a redemption one at least. Illay does something far worse in the upcoming chapters and, imo, doesn’t do anything that even slightly gives him redemption for that tbh.
What does he do? Is the manhwa following the novel closely to not have any changes?

It’s pretty close to the novel tbh, so I don’t see much changing.

Ilay assumed that Taeui was trying to run away from him at one point, which obviously angers him. (Even though that’s not what Tauei was going to do).
When he finds Taeui, knocks him unconscious and take him to a hotel room where he SAs him pretty violently for multiple rounds (no preparation, tying his hands as well as putting his glove in his mouth so he can’t talk).
After it’s all done, that’s…it. Ilay doesn’t get on his knees and beg for forgiveness or anything. They basically just talk. It’s like they just move on from what happened. This all happens pretty much right at the end of the novel too, and the ending of the novel doesn’t do a good job of wrapping up anything about their relationship or having any sweet romance or redemption arc. The only way you could really say anything in main story is a “chasing arc” is if you consider him being psychotic and basically chasing after him to eventually just end up hurting/trying to hurt him lmao.
Now in the side stories, it goes a little bit more into the relationship. But main story not really.

I mean they do say they love each other, would die for each other, die without the other, etc. but there’s really no redemption arc (in my opinion)
Woah I haven’t read the novel yet, so I kinda just assumed on the chapters I’ve read until now. I read on another website which has updated to chapter 123, but I don’t know anything more than that. Disappointing honestly
