Idk if you think I’m trying to make Revenge seem morally pure or something. But it’s not lol. All these stories are problematic. I’m fine with that. But for some reason you aren’t and are lashing out at everyone else. And yeah, I think redeeming a character who raped someone is fucked up, the same as a character ordering a gang rape hit on someone is fucked up. Tomato tomahto. Sorry that you’re slow.

I’m not trying to have a go with you, but I read each comment you and Jax did (I know I’m a loser for doing that) but my thing is, even if you don’t agree with the content the author is putting out and still read it at the end of the day, why bash other people for reading it? Sure it’s some heavy stuff in both Manhwa and Novel, but some people do actually enjoy this kind of stuff because of how fiction it is.
I like the dark themes of stories so this story is my cup of tea, I like the art and like how it’s progressing, I never read the novel so I don’t know what’s gonna happen.
All I know is that, it’s okay not to like something, but to comment it just for everyone to see instead of just not reading it in the first place or even putting it to the side is still fucked up. A lot of people enjoy this story, (Again, still fiction) but once they finish and see your comment, people might have things to say. I hope you don’t take this comment the wrong way, but I feel like this was very unnecessary to post.
People have their own opinions which I get, but hating is just not it.

Idec if people dislike the manhwa bruh I dislike this manhwa half the time too. But damn is it crazy when people go on tirades about how problematic it is and how it’s normalizing bad things when these people themselves also subscribe to stuff with problematic themes. So what, one story is normalizing and another isn’t? Using this person’s very argument then BTTIM is also harmful because it “promotes the idea that a rapist can be rehabilitated and become a good partner”. Even if the character development is good it’s still a problematic trope. All of this shit is problematic man, it’s YAOI. And if I had to give Revenge a compliment of any kind it would be that Juyeon never “develops into a non abusive person” BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH THING. God bless.

i’ll be honest, i didn’t read all that so u might’ve back tracked but i believe you’ve misunderstood. read what you want and indulge in what you want as i originally stated. that’s not my issue. defending rape, be it fiction and definitely not in reality, is not okay. accusing people of being “sensitive” and “stupid” for being against it, be it fiction or reality, is NOT OKAY. neither ever will be. i chose to read this knowing it had rape. i’ve read other manhwa’s that also include it. the problem only partially lies on the story. there shouldn’t be any reason why people are trying to make excuses and downplay whatever the fuck this plot is. i appreciate how you admit you get your rocks off to content like this because it’s that simple. what’s unnecessary is to pretend as if the content is okay. i don’t care about what people have to say because i’m comfortable in my moral position and can’t be frightened with deflection. you’ve seen yourself if it wasn’t a fact i read bttim, we wouldn’t be here. i know, you know, and jax knows what’s right and what’s wrong. how i feel isn’t my argument, the proof is in the pudding.
y’all are so sick and deranged finding any way to support this. what do YOU gain from being purposely ignorant and ignoring the harm that comes from normalizing or eroticizing such violence? even in fiction, works that romanticize or sexualize abuse can desensitize people to real‑life trauma, breed/encourage harmful stereotypes about victims, and reinforce the idea that consent is negotiable or irrelevant. even though people can have their fantasies that they explore in safe, consensual ways, manhwas like this that represent rape as “arousing” without clear condemnation blurs the fine line between fantasy and endorsement, which fuels the disgusting attitudes y’all have in these comments. we’re old enough to know fiction doesn’t exist in a vacuum. It shapes perceptions, especially for teenagers who don’t fully grasp the difference between fantasy and reality. these are the same people who go on to look at real victims like they’re objects for entertainment or proof of their fantasies, showing how your downplaying to “fetish content” and “fiction” actively bleed into real‑world dehumanization. a DEEP reality check is needed.
