So after Laria ran away the FIL's plan to replace the terminally ill Laria with the princess was revealed to the family and the ML became obsessed with finding her. The FIL did not intend to carry on with the plan anymore anyway but she didn't know that. When he finally did find her it was revealed he had already turned back time with the cat's dark magic after Laria died, as he already loved her in the "original" timeline. The mother could not be revived by turning back time anyway since she had already reincarnated, so time was just turned back to the main story. The cat made up this "book" to confuse Laria, she was not a possessor but the original Laria with her memories messed up. With these misunderstandings cleared, they reunited and loved each other, the end.

The cat basically did all this for fun, but since it ended, it was not fun anymore. This last update (ch117) is a side story with him turning back time again to the key moment for the misunderstandings to be resolved just to prolog the chaos.
