The age of the offender absolutely does matter in legal contexts, especially in cases involving serious crimes like rape. That’s not an “excuse”, it’s a legal fact. The justice system distinguishes between minors and adults because minors are not held to the same standard of culpability. That’s not a narrative, that’s codified in both juvenile justice laws and international human rights frameworks.
Calling a 15 or 16yo a “rapist” without any regard for age of criminal responsibility, mental development, or capacity for rehabilitation ignores how actual courts operate. Minors are often tried in separate systems for a reason: intent, peer pressure, and underdeveloped judgment are all legally relevant.
And no, it’s not “dumbing minors down”, it’s called applying the law correctly. That’s why we don’t sentence teenagers to life without parole in many jurisdictions anymore. That’s why juvenile detention exists.

Yeah it was for three months. There’s actually a flashback of a younger Soohyuk and Jiwook meeting as kids and Jiwook says he wants to show Soohyuk something in the library. It’s revealed that Jiwook and his friends had been raping Juyeon there. That’s why Juyeon in the present day is promising to delete the photos after three months. He’s trying to make it completely even, although he ends up going overboard lol.
