Wait when is there rape and torture? Is there a novel or did you read the raws?

The first chapter already spoiled it.

Oh, I forgot about the first chapter. I didn't show it between the mc/ml though, it just showed rough sex between them. I get dropping it for that and the group assualt/torture scene (I had to go back and check chapter one) , not sure why so many stories have rape in it now or why they make it so detailed/graphic. I get we shouldn't gloss over such topics bc it's a reality but I also don't think it needs to be shown in such detail. People understand without that.

Like at what point does it cross a line? How does someone determine if its really for "character development" or to express how awful/bad a character really had it, you know? Idk, sometimes I can stomach reading a story with graphic scenes if theyre handled well but a lot of times it just seems like shock value or kink/fetish feeding (like people who love noncon/consensual noncon, extremely rough sex, humiliation, etc). There are definitely quite a few yaoi's (and other genres) that do not handle rape/SA well at all and some that are just straight up disgusting (like rape/SA between the ml/mc thats almost never addressed and glossed over/pairing up a victim with their rapist happens a lot too, etc)

I don't also get it, Korean straight manhwa seems fine though, but what I think is maybe these bl authors that would includes rapes in their work in every way, has tendencies of men getting fcked up(sum kink or shit lol) idk though it seems that way to me.. it's just so forced to me.

Theres been a few hetero manhwas ive read but not near as many as korean yaoi's. I think it might just be their experiences or anger at men bleeding into their work. Like misogyny is really bad in South Korea, thats also where the 4B movement started (which is an awesome movement

Probably because many straight romance and BL writers are women.

Women writers and readers feel uncomfortable seeing woman being assaulted like that. Something about relatability and many MCs being a y/n for readers

With BL, they can go all out. Because female readers don't make the MC their y/n. They see many of these characters in a more sexual light

Its the same with straight hentai or manhwa porn made by men. It often includes rape and assault towards women but not men.

Ohhh I can see it. Because few of the bl manhwas that are tag as "yaoi" are straight up gay porn, so it's like a straight hentai with men too, but in a woman's field. That's crazy, now I've realized it's not just men who's fck in the head but women too

Omg yes, it's even more traumatizing, like we get that they're all men but that doesn't mean they had to double the pain they'll get just because they're not fragile like women are crazy authors
